Biography

Ash Chopra is the founder of Chopra Management Consultants (CMC), based in the Toronto area.

CMC focuses on strategic business issues for technology-centric businesses like telecoms, ISPs, e-Business. Past clients include AT&T and TELUS. Most recently at TELUS, Ash worked as part of the IP-One Team where he co-developed the company's IP Communications technology roadmap, assisted with Product Marketing and Strategy and worked closely with the TELUS Business, Consumer and Wholesale markets in assisting their understanding of the VoIP marketplace.

With over 15 years of senior management experience, accomplishments include:

* At Primus Telecommunications (Australia), role as VP & General Manager (2000-2002) of Australian Internet & Data unit where he led the iPrimus unit to rapid profitability and growth, rapid customer growth (growing from approx. 100k to 400k in 2 years) and managed a deptarment of approx. 300 people. Striking deals with Southern Star Endemol/Network 10, Apple Computer Australia, HP/Compaq, BP, Microsoft and major retailers, iPrimus became the 3rd largest consumer and enterprise-level ISP in Australia(while all the other major ISPs remained flat or shrank); including the first to offer both HDSL and ADSL services.

* At Primus Telecom (USA), Ash was part if the iPrimus business initiative that helped the corporation develop its plans for ISP, ASP, Hosting and e-Business. Acquisition and integration roles included Matrix in Brazil and 1492 Technologies of Alexandria, VA.

* As the VP Strategic Services (1998-1999) at Bratch Innocation in Toronto, Ash grew a significant consulting practice at the e-Business consultancy; working with clients like Sony, HP, Enbridge, CIBC World Markets, TD Bank, and major VCs and i-Banks. Consulting projects included many Canadian and USA-based internet startups and spin-offs.

* From 1990 to 1997, Ash held Assoc. Director level roles in Bell Canada's Marketing, Finance, Product Management and Network Services divisions.
